IS DUSSEHRA REALLY OVER?

With the dust settled again there will be rise in rape cases. Why are we Indians so selective about our intrication to the details. We do not follow as we preach. On saturday 24th October, 2020 many Indians followed this tradition of inviting 9 girls to their home and feeding them. It is an old age tradition that is followed across India. We Indians cherish it. We celebrate Navratri with huge pomp and glory. Today was the day when the idols of Ma Durga were immersed in water and we bid adieu to her. Have we asked her to take our sins away? Can she do that? I ask you to answer that but on the other hand everyone will now go to eid then chhath puja then diwali and many more. But the question remains the same. Are we doing enough? There have been many hathras styled events and many worse than that. Have we learnt our lessons no. What is it that we don’t understand? The fact that we are so self obsessed and our ego gets the better of us. It is tough for us to accept girls the way they are. How and when will this end. As you write I want you to understand the exhilarating pain of every Indian woman. She is looked upon, teased, asked to lose weight and whatnot. Think for a second if your entire life you are dictated to this, to do that. How will you feel?
The dust settles there. I do not agree. There will be some reposts on instagram, some of you will add relatable images on your instagram story or you will share this article on whatsapp. That is not enough? What I want you to do is become more human and less devil. Be courteous to your fellow women folk around you. Start talking and lend an ear. Do not judge and don’t try to come to conclusions. If she wants to go and cry let her cry but don’t force her to do things. We are a nation of 130 crore and if we take it upon ourselves to look after each other then such miscreants will automatically be punished. We just have stopped harbouring them and I just don’t want you to be a passive reader. I want you to rise and in a time bound manner make this a better place. Just start helping others. That is all I ask. Stand for what is right and don’t justify wrong things. Even when a woman is abused on social media and you try to ignore those comments section then you are no different. I will not so that they will transform into Maa Kali and kill the devils. I will say that remember that they are the one who give lives. They can take it away also. Don’t test your patience. Be courteous to everyone and follow what your heart says. Aurat word in itself means life. Give life and pounder the cream. Never will you feel alone if you help others and remember it is the greatest joy to keep the creator of life happy and smile.
