BAP ( Bollywood Art Project )

BAP ( Bollywood Art Project ) an project started off by Ranjit Dahiya, to remember the mighty Bollywood which the city Mumbai is familiar to or is known for mostly.The main reason behind starting these Project years back in 2012 was in the account of the famous Hindi cinema of Bollywood.


As all the people from all over the states come to Mumbai to get some work, earn an living, fulfill their dreams, and see it Executed.While fulfilling their dreams they come across the streets of Bombay,the streets from where the thousands of people pass by. This wall Graffiti gives the Streets of Mumbai the taste of Bollywood and feels happy to see the late old actors on the Streets.



In 2009 when Ranjit Dahiya Sir, came to Mumbai he was very disappointed with the city, because the way he had visualized the city in his mind was of Bollywood Posters, Paintings and all the streets but way back in 2012 Mumbai was polluted and was full loaded with cramped Buildings.That sparked him to the Street art which brought him close to the celluloid world.
Ranjit Sir started his Painting Career as a Whitewasher at the age of 16,coming from a small towns named sonipat in Haryana,india.Ranjit sir did his Bachelors degree in fine art from college of art,chandigarh.Before entering into the street art from 2012 he worked with a couple of companies as a graphic and interface Designer.After 2012 his main journey started. Bordering on the basic 9-5 job he used to go around with his other Artists in Bandra to practice street art.



The main point where Ranjit came into attention is when he made a huge wall painting for the film Sarkar raj in 2010.
The venture Bollywood art project then started after 2 years to change the city into a Bollywood memorial.
Mumbai- The city of dreams celebrated 100 years of cinema world with great Warmth,in which BAP commited the worlds largest panorama of the great man Late.Dr dadasaheb phalke in Bandra on the Mtnl Building.
The work of BAP is very satisfying and its great to see such a person who has dedicated so much to the street walls of our favourite and loved Mumbai. He spents 40 to 20 lakhs on one painting which also includes the labour cost,food which is per painting.


The work he is commenced to does not give him monetary returns, though he is doing it,this shows the Dedication and love towards his passion for the art.
