An open letter to Mahi.

Dear Mahi,

From ticket collector to trophy collector, we feel a little unlucky to not witness your whole journey until you emerged as a successful player and a one of the best captain India could receive, when there were questions who will be next Sachin for team India, you turned into an Unique Mahi and gladly we couldn’t believe anyone who will tell us this player is next MSD because there’s only a way MAHI WAY!! And theres only a Mahi that could ever exist, and we are hell of a lucky to be born in an era when we not only saw you playing and turning tables but we saw you grabbing all 3 ICC trophies.

Sometimes we get little irritated when you are so calm and the opponents trying to tease you on-field, but we feel surprised when you show them how its done through your actions!

Sometimes we feel little stressed and think the match is lost, and you surprise us again by turning the lost to the win at the last moment.

When SRK said “Haar kar jeetne waale ko BAZIGAR kehte hai!” And we couldn’t relate it more to you because even if we loose the match you win our hearts evertime.

Everytime you put up a post with your family, we feel like you are the part of us too! The way you speak the unspoken by just showing up what needs to be spoken is what we love about you the most

We are a little heartbroken when we see you hair turn grey and you not playing on field, but again our hearts dance on the every six you hit when its time to show your haters its done Mahi way!

The way you motivate new faces, the way you play, the way you decide, the way you keep calm actually the way you are…is very very special for every cricket fan out there!!

Happy birthday, one more year of surprises, one more year of being cutest dad, a roaring lion, a trophy collector, a respectful Indian citizen and our Thala!!
