Stubbornly Persistent Illusion: Part 3

In previous article we saw our action reaction with the physical reality and our capability or range of seeing this physical reality. In this article we will see how our observation affect the reality to physical system with a world famous thought experiment in quantum physics and how does it affect the reality.
So get back to ride without wasting our entropy (thing which cause illusionistic time).

We think the world we see around is composed of matter,for better understanding, stuff of the world is matterstuff. And this is true, as far as physical reality is concerned, may be uncertain but this is ultimate thing. The world we actually know is the world that takes place in our mind. And so this world is not made of matterstuff but mindstuff.

Everything we perceive, feel, imagine, is a form that consciousness has taken on. Everything, as far as world is concerned, is structured in consciousness. What about the reality of space and time? (Crucial thing that we must consider). Reality of space and time seems undeniable. They appear to be fundamental dimensions of physical world, entirely independent of my or your consciousness. This is because we can not see world in any other way. Our mind is constituted that it is forced to construct the experience within the framework of space and time. However space and time are not fundamental dimensions of underlying reality but consciousness.

Ok, so it may seems astonishing claim but physics now lends weight to this extraordinary idea. Before making our way to time theory and relativity, lets see a world famous, feline Paradox thaught experiment by Nobel prize winning physicist Erwin Schrödinger. Thauhgt experiment known as “Schrödinger cat experiment”. This thaught experiment reveales the peculiar rules of quantum theory. For those who are unaware of Quantum physics, its basically the study of physics of particles at very deep scale (i.e. at Substomic level) where thing behaves weird comparing with general physics.

In experiment, you place a cat in box with a tiny bit of radio active substance(alfa). When the radioactive substance decays, Geiger counter detects it and triggers the hammer to release the poison that kills the cat. The decay of radioactive substance is governed by quantum mechanics and is a random process with no way to predict when it will happen. Until the box is opened, the observer doesn’t know whether the cat is alive or dead. There is no conscious observer present(everything is in a sealed box). So it has two possibilities.

The cat’s fate is intrinsically tied to whether or not the atom has decayed and the cat would be “living or dead…in equal parts” until it is observed. In simple words, a state of Cat is completely unknown until the box was opened and therefore, the cat is considered to be both ‘alive and dead’ at the SAME time until it is observed. Immediately when observer looking at cat, the Superposition of the cat- which was in both states- would collapse into one possibility of knowledge that ‘the cat is alive’ or ‘the cat is dead’, but not both. This is the idea of wave function of particles describes all of the possible states until it observed.
“In any physical system, without observation, you cannot say what something is doing”
This is complete new level of weirdness of quantum realm.

It is your observation that causes the collapse of wave function and results into one final possible outcome. When you are not observing you are not sure about the possibility that reality is offering.

If you have this Schrödinger’s emoticon poster on the wall of your bedroom depicting both the expressions, sad and smile, at same time. Its upto your observation, what wave function you are going to see! Science of the universe is eternal, much complicated and weird for the most of the time. Till now we saw the reality as reconstruction of world appears in our mind. From now onwards we will drive through the fundamental aspects of the world in terms of physics! It has been a wonderful journey so far and will be more fascinating from now on. Until then, take rest on the station and look for this eternity, the nature has offering!
