Every body shape is a blessing. No one should be body shamed for their overweight. It’s hard for some people to understand this that they are beautiful with any body type. Being fat is nothing but cute with those chubby chubby cheeks! But there’s a thin line between being unhealthy and overweight. it’s better to be fit and healthy with control on food and have a healthy meal. Being fit is in the trend since many years now. Yoga, gym and dieting – youth is making these as part of schedule. There’s so many people who totally transformed themselves into fit and healthy. Among the bollywood stars, names comes out is Bhumi Pednekar. But her journey is way more difficult . How? Let’s find out!

Bhumi is an absolute wonderful actress, her first movie “Dam Lagake Haisha” in which she played a role of oversized woman. A choice from heart to work in film industry and chance to act gave her confidence and faith. For the film she had gain 23kg of weight to fit into the character. For six months after she signed the film, Pednekar continued her job as a casting director at Yash Raj Films, one of Bollywood’s biggest production houses, while simultaneously gorging on butter chicken, dal makhani and all things fattening, to look like the character in the film.

Pednekar did fabulous acting in the movie and her dedication was appreciated, but what about the gained weight? Will she survive with this weight in the industry? She said “The added weight never made me feel insecure. But being overweight, especially since it was achieved in short time, brought with it its set of issues. I started developing health problems. My back and joints started aching. My diet was unhealthy” She had to decide on this! As it was about maintaining health.

There’s no problem for being overweight or being insecure for that. You should eat whatever you like and makes you happy. After all food is an emotion! But limit can be a term which could help us here! Pednekar did the same, she never was insecure about her weight with the added weight, she couldn’t restrict herself as an actor. But her profession was also her priority! We don’t have a lot of great scripts written for plus-size women. So Pednekar decide to lose weight. Not starve, and have her chicken butter but aslo burn the calories out and also not be “zero figure” not skinny, just healthy!

By the time her first film was out, she had already lost 10 kgs. But she still had a long way to go. Though not plans with her.She tried to do it by herself. She started with an hour at the gym. Then the badminton and simultaneously increased hours at the gym. “There are times where you want to lose weight, and then there are times where you just don’t care. I realised it has to be a combination of both,” she says. While these strict diets we can’t resist the temptations and it’s hard to ignore them at times. Pednekar knew she also couldn’t do this and wouldn’t leave her a happy person. So she found ways to retain her favourite foods in her diet. She said“I had the yummiest food. I believe a good chicken breast, if made well, is the best thing ever. I just picked healthier options. I quit wheat and refined sugar. I switched to whole grains. If you want to eat rotis, eat jawar ki bhakri. The Indian meal is the most balanced meal there is. I’d have one roti for dinner, and two rotis for lunch, and a cup of brown rice. I would put jaggery or honey in my tea. I would also eat rajgira My only nutritionist was my mom,” she says. Woooow! Is this a new diet meal to all of us to stay maintain!?

Far so, she lost almost 33 kgs and is at her best enjoying her meal, her work, amazing films, a happy life! Bhumi pednekar is one the finest actor bollywood has today.
